This past two weeks have been crazy but what I have experienced and accomplished in those two weeks is really quit amazing.
Take A Two Week Evaluation
Have you ever taken a two week period and really evaluated and assessed what happened in those two weeks? We seem to always focus on one week chunks of time based on the calendar but what about 2 weeks. Two weeks is a good amount of time to evaluate and get things done, a lot of things if you are motivated. It also lets you take a look at your progress through the month at the halfway mark. In other words, if you have some goals for the month to accomplish, you should be at the halfway mark in two weeks and you need to evaluate and adjust if you are behind.
Well one of the things I have done over the last two weeks is attend my fourth NAMS meeting in Atlanta. NAMS stands for Niche Affiliate Marketing Systems and it just continues to get larger and better every time. The 3 day event is held two times per year and this was the seventh one. That means the event is only 3 years old and has really started to hit its stride.
The training during this event was so powerful I can't stop thinking about it and have been in massive action mode ever since.

Atlanta Internet Marketing Conference
This event had over 300 online marketers attending with more than 30 instructors. There are 4 tracks during the event designated with a 100, 200, 300 or 400 level, just like a college format. You are welcome to attend any level you want but of course, depending on your skill level and knowledge you will get more out of the event if you are attending a session more in line with where you are at.
I spent most of my time in the 300 and 400 level sessions and learned some incredible stuff. I will be sharing some of those exciting things with you guys over the next couple of months but in this post I wanted to stress the most important element of the whole thing. It's not the information and the teaching that makes the event, it's the people and I am here to tell you this is a FANTASTIC group of people. The relationships and conversations that occur throughout the event are flat out powerful.
Learn From My Mistakes
Why do I say that? What is the point Todd? I know it sounds so cliche' but learn from my mistakes. In essence that is what this whole blog is about. Learn from my mistakes or my curiosity to find the answers to things I research. Seriously, I do this blog and create products and hold seminars because I know I struggle through stuff. I have a pretty good knack of breaking things down so people can understand them. It probably has something to do with my simple mind. I have a pretty simple, logical mind and so when I finally figure something out I can break it down to a step by step process and hit on the little tricks I learned along the way. Those little things I look for in the process as key elements to really getting or learning whatever the thing is I am struggling with. The things that you are looking for someone to tell you or show you so you can get it done or save you money or make you money. You know what I mean?
Well, here is one of those little tricks. GO TO A LIVE EVENT —– AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. And that does not mean next year, it means within the next few months. You will never get this stuff if you don't. I mean it. Sure you might plug along and produce some little successes here or there but not until you go meet people doing the deal and living the process will you really get the full concept of what this internet marketing is all about.
Why do I say that? Because I was that guy. I was the one that said I am okay, I will figure it out on my own. Finally after a couple of years of really no success and spending money on the next shiny thing did I decide to go to my first live event. I figured I was spending money anyway and getting no results, maybe I will try this and see what happens. It changed my life.
Now I have friends and business connections all over the country. I am involved on a much greater level then I ever could be just sitting in my office cranking out blog posts and hoping to make some money. I have met people who have been around for a while and listen to what they are doing and what level of success they are having and it gives me more passion for this incredible opportunity to create my own business around whatever I am passionate about.
Internet Marketing Is Still A Child
It is an amazing time we live in and to think the industry of internet marketing has really only been around for about 10 years. Only in the last 5 years has it really started to become more mainstream and as the tools of the trade have started to evolve at an affordable price along with the technology being developed to use these tools effectively such as video and tele-seminars we are only in the infant stages of this industry as a whole. That is amazing to me. We are in the creative and developmental stages of a very dynamic and powerful industry.
The fact is it is more important then ever before for any business to have a presence on the internet and not just a website. Those days are gone. If you don't have some form of Web 2.0 working for your offline business you are getting crushed by the competition. If you are a Nail Salon, Insurance agent, hairdresser, Cake Baker, it doesn't matter, you need to be able to be found on the internet. We are the one's who know how to do that. Our industry, not the webmasters. They know how to build cool websites but they are not very skilled in SEO and Social Media platforms and video marketing and Local Business Listings. We are, the internet marketers.
I say this because as the world comes together and more and more people are looking for that opportunity, the great American dream, it is no longer the Great American Dream. It is the Great World Dream. Can we teach the world to be independent. The singers of the 90's wanted to teach the world to sing. I want to teach the world to be independent and follow their passion. Gary Vaynerchuk is right, it is time to "Crush It" and we have the tools at our finger tips to get it done.

There were internet marketers at the NAMS event making a million a year. I met a husband and wife team making $250 – $300 a day from Google Adsense. Wouldn't you want to have a conversation with those people. Ask them how they are doing it. They will tell you. They told me.
